PILOT issue #5 / The covers
PILOT issue #5 is available NOW nationwide in NZ and of course at Mag Nation stores…. We’re also in at Mag Nation Australia now. There are 2 covers. One boy, one girl. The boy cover is Christopher Landon @ Clyne shot by Guy Coombes… you can’t really tell on screen, but the blue is a super deep, rich blue. Looks dead sexy in the flesh… The girl cover is of course NZ model Emily Baker, also at Clyne, shot by Olivia Hemus. This is M’s first solo cover in print. She’ll be across all the international mags soon, of course. Thanks to Dan Ahwa and Emma Gleason for the fashion styling, Amber D and MAC for the make-up, Jason Chong Li for the hair on Chris and Richard Kavanagh for the hair on Emily.
PILOT Issue #5 / Preview Three
It’s likely that advance copies of PILOT #5 will be available from Mag Nation some time Friday afternoon. For now, here’s the Intro spread and a few photos from Issue #5′s feature presentation. It’s a 32-page conceptual feature that explores ideas such as evolution, religion, science, space, the future and other fun stuff. In the actual magazine, we describe it thus: In which an argument of sorts is presented advocating the continued application of science and reason in order to pursue goals pertaining to the betterment of all citizens of the planet. Told you it was Fun!
PILOT Issue #5 / Preview Two
The above is photographer Charles Howells checking the colour tones in his Prada based fashion editorial in the new issue of PILOT. The PILOT team spent the Easter break press-passing the new issue at the printers. We think it’s a very pretty looking issue. Pretty in a good way. Below are a few sheets of the magazine before they get cut, binded and pressed together to make PILOT #5. The new issue will be in stores across New Zealand on Thursday May 5, and across Australia 2 weeks later. Will post the covers soon.
PILOT issue #5 / preview one
This is a quick little behind the scenes video from an editorial shoot shot in Paris for the new issue of PILOT Magazine. The editorial is called Hors – Champ and it is nice and moody, just like the video. It is one of our favourite features in the new issue, which is coming soon…..
