The Making of Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 Cover

blueprint3cover1

Here is a very cool timelapse of the making of the cover for Jay-Z’s new album The Blueprint 3. Very interesting to see photographer Dan Tobin Smith’s process.

There is a also nice little interview with Dan Tobin Smith over at itsnicethat.com about shooting the cover.

oh, and have you heard the album?

4-5 good songs, but the rest is average at best… generally the way hip-hop albums go though right?

Pretty much every album. It’s ok, not his best or his worst. Raekwons Cuban Linx 2 is pretty great though.

Yo boys! Blueprint 3 has gone straight to No. 1 on the US Billboard charts – surpassing Elvis’ long standing record, which gives Jay-Z the most No. 1 records sold for a solo act ever … now only bested by The Beatles. Think about that for a minute. Respect xxx
