Pilot issue #2 is getting closer, very closer….

 deer

Half of Pilot issue #2 went off to the printers on Friday and the remainder will go tomorrow (Monday). For those of you unfamiliar with the process of publishing a 256-page magazine – the magazine is broken up into 16-page sections. The printer then prints a section at a time and then binds all the sections together to produce each magazine. It’s a long involving process with the possibility for high-drama-of the-not-very-nice-kind lurking behind every corner. Luckily we have a great team who know how to make the magic happen.

The sheer amount of work that goes into producing a 256-page magazine is intense but please don’t interpret that as a complaint dear reader, because it is not. Quite the opposite in fact. Four months of hard work have gone into Pilot issue #2 yes, and one of the nice things about magazine publishing is that you get to hold the results of all that work in your hand as a finished tactile product just waiting to be flipped and flicked and dipped in and out of again and again..…

It’ll be at least another week until we see the finished issue and two weeks until it is in store but right now – I’m feeling very pleased with it.

Will update soon with confirmed release date and cover shot….  (the image above is from Si Scott, a featured artist in issue #2)

Cheers,

Andy
