One of the most exciting upcoming films of 2010 has to be Tron Legacy. A sequel to the classic 80s film…
“Tron Legacy is a 3D adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.”
At last week’s Comic Con, the film’s director and cast held a panel discussion on the film and showed off some Tron concept art and test footage. Adding to the excitement is the fact that Daft Punk have scored the film’s soundtrack, recording 24 new songs for the film. At Comic Con, director Joseph Kosinski added that Daft Punk would eventually tour their soundtrack and that there would “definitely be Daft Punk Tron-themed events on the horizon.”
Apparently this is more of a showreel and FX test than a proper trailer, even so, this thing is a major slice of the badass. An extended bike chase on that iconic grid… and don’t forget that this is going to be shown in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3D… oh my gosh…
