About a month ago I mentioned a Design event in Auckland that featured 4 presentations on Collaborative Design Projects. The intention of the event was to show design collaboration on projects, and give different design disciplines some insight into the way other disciplines work. Myself and Arch MacDonnell of Inhouse Design gave one of 4 presentations. Arch heads the design team that put Pilot together. Magazine publishing is by nature a collaborative process, and the most important part of that process is the collaboration between editorial and design. Arch and I discussed the collaborative process that we go through to put Pilot together and Arch being the design geek – we had a delicious slide show to help illustrate the process. The evening was a sold-out success and Arch and I managed to deliver a devastating presentation that proved compelling enough for us to be asked to give the same presentation in Wellington next week. Equally good were Dean Poole from Alt Group and Ed Burak of Formway Furniture, Dean and Ed are also returning for a repeat performance in Wellington.
