It’s been a hectic 4 days in London. Anyone who has spent time with my host Vee will relate no doubt. We went out on Friday night to The World Is Yours exhibition for photographer Lawrence Watson. The World is Yours is a hardback retrospective of Lawrence’s iconic images. Launched in conjunction with Adidas as part of their 60th anniversary, the book features a long list of music heavyweights rocking the 3-Stripes. The hardcover book releases soon, but in the meantime the exhibition is running at the Londonewcastle Project Space, 28 Redchurch Street, E2 London until next week.
Steinlager Pure sponsored the exhibition opening with free drinks for a thirsty Friday night crowd grateful for the crisp, clean, green taste of New Zealand. It was very funny to see hundreds and hundreds of cool looking London music types, hipsters and artsy peeps all knocking back bottles of Pure as fast they could. No one can drink beer like a London posse on a Friday night that is for sure. Big shout to Lani from Gisbourne and DJ Vee – both doing a fine job of promoting Pure around London.
Saturday night was spent at Hospital Bar where Chris Tubbs was DJing. Chris’s partner Tamara was celebrating her birthday so there was a big Kiwi crew there to party. Met Ollie Green (ex Urban Disturbance with Zane Lowe). Ollie has been working in the London advertising world and doing very well. So well that he is now following his dream of comedy writing and he wants to start doing stand-up soon. Dude is nuts, but in a good way, his brain can make some lightening fast mental leaps and he had some great advice for PILOT. Righto, I’m off to meet Chris Tubbs for some lunch and then I’ve got a meeting with a top London photographer….
