As Isaac over at isaaclikes.com reported last week, the recent release of the much-coveted Kanye West Nike Air Yeezys caused a minor sensation amongst local sneaker freakers. Qubic brought in 30 pairs of the shoes and dished these out through a lottery system for the first 100 peeps to get in line. As in wait outside in the cold for the store to open. Recession? What recession?
Aaaaanyway – if you’re a sneaker guy and missed out, fear not. Louis Vuitton in Auckland has just landed stock of Kanye’s sneaker collection for LV. I checked out the range yesterday and they are some nice sneakers, a confident mix of Kanye’s style with LV’s heritage and craftsmanship.
There are 3 basic styles including a boat shoe, but my pics are the white high-top boot below and the Jasper – above is the flamboyant leather patchwork edition with sport suede tassels with gold-finish and fluorescent pink outsole inspired by Japanese pop art.
One gets the impression that this is just the beginning of the Kanye / LV relationship. Mr West says the inspiration for this collection comes from…
